Sikh Youth Australia (SYA), in commemoration of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, has lined up a program that aims to “walk the talk” of Guru Nanak. SYA is honoured to invite you and members of your community to participate in any (or all) of the activities designed to exhibit and put into practice the inclusive approach to mankind that Guru Nanak professed.

Details of the event, titled the Divine Steps Festival are as listed below:

Date: 10th November 2019

Venue: Pyrmont Bay Park, Pyrmont

Time: 9 am – 4 pm




  1. Multi-faith Concert –All religions/faiths are invited to perform their devotional music/kirtan/hymns/chanting focussed on Divinity, Humanity and Universality.
  2. Harbour-side Charity Walks.
  3. Exhibitions on Guru Nanak’s life and philosophy.
  4. Solidarity Cycling Tour from Canberra to Sydney culminating at the venue.
  5. Talks by various dignitaries, focusing on the importance of diversity, inclusion and co-existence in our multi-faith Australia. 
  6. Fun activities for kids like Jumping Castle, Face Painting etc.
  7. Free Health Check-up Camp.
  8. Free Community Kitchen providing food and refreshments to everyone. This is an institution established by Guru Nanak to break down the barriers of social classes that is practised to this day by his followers.
